Which HR metric answers which question

Pay questions come first in most HR inboxes. Salary to hourly converts an annual offer into hourly, weekly and monthly pay; the overtime calculator applies your threshold and multiplier; the pay raise calculator shows the new salary and the real raise after inflation; and the prorated salary calculator handles anyone who joins or leaves mid-year.

For hiring, cost per hire and time to hire are the two numbers a CFO will ask about. Pair them with the cost of turnover calculator when you need to show what losing an experienced person really costs: separation, hiring, onboarding and the months a replacement needs to reach full speed.

Turnover rate and retention rate look like opposites but answer different questions. Turnover counts everyone who left, including people hired and lost in the same period; retention only follows the people you started with. Report both, and add eNPS or the engagement score to explain the trend behind them.

Frequently asked questions

Are these HR calculators free?

Yes. All twenty HR tools are free, need no sign-up and run in your browser. Employee names and figures you type are not sent to a Kurums server.

How do I convert a salary to an hourly rate?

Divide the annual salary by paid hours per year, which is weekly hours times paid weeks. A 52,000 salary at 40 hours a week for 52 weeks is 25.00 per hour. The salary to hourly calculator also gives weekly, monthly and daily pay.

What is the difference between turnover rate and retention rate?

Turnover rate divides leavers by average headcount for the period. Retention rate takes the people employed at the start, removes those who left, and divides by the starting headcount, so new hires do not affect it.

Do the pay tools apply overtime law for my country?

The overtime calculator applies the threshold and multiplier you enter. Thresholds, exemptions and multipliers differ by country and contract, so check your local rules before you rely on the result.
