Best Customer Onboarding Software in 2026: Pricing & Comparison

We compared four in-app guidance platforms on public pricing, MAU limits, analytics depth and setup effort so product teams can shortlist without a sales call.

By Kurums EditorialPricing checked 16 Oct 2026Updated 16 Oct 2026How we make money
TL;DR

  • Early-stage SaaS under 2,000 MAUs: Product Fruits — transparent MAU pricing and adaptive flows from the entry plan.
  • Teams that want unlimited seats and clear annual rates: Userflow — Essentials and Studio publish exact annual prices with unlimited team members.
  • Growth teams needing analytics + engagement: Userpilot — Starter covers in-app guidance and NPS; Growth adds funnels and session replay.
  • Design-heavy product orgs: Chameleon — Pro and Growth publish starting MTU prices with strong customization and AI agents.

Customer onboarding software (also called digital adoption or product guidance platforms) lets SaaS teams build no-code product tours, checklists, tooltips, banners and in-app surveys that activate new users and drive feature adoption without engineering tickets for every change.

We evaluated the same fields for every vendor: published pricing and billing basis, free plan or trial, core focus, and the main limitation that appears on official pages. Order is not a quality ranking. We sorted public $0 or lowest published starting price first and quote-led platforms last.

Buying tip

Ask each vendor to confirm the exact MAU definition and overage rate in writing. Most tools count unique signed-in users in a rolling 30-day window; a looser definition can double the bill.

Which customer onboarding tool is cheapest for a small team?
Among the four compared, Product Fruits and Userflow publish the lowest annual starting prices for roughly 1,000–1,500 MAUs. Confirm the exact figure on their pricing pages because MAU tiers move.

Do any of these tools have a free plan?

None of the four offer a permanent free plan for full in-app experiences. All provide a 14-day trial. Pendo (not compared here) has a free tier up to 500 MAUs.

How is pricing usually calculated?

Almost all vendors price primarily on monthly active users (or monthly tracked users). Seat counts, published experiences, environments and AI credits are secondary limits or add-ons.

Can I switch tools later?

Yes, but migrating existing flows and user data takes effort. Most teams evaluate two tools side-by-side during the trial before committing annually.
