Buyer's guide Β· Finance
We compared six FX risk management platforms on published pricing, onboarding terms, hedging instruments, exposure automation, regulatory status and the main limitation buyers should check before hedging.
- Fast-growing company hedging for the first time: Bound β Pay-as-you-go pricing with no setup or monthly fees; hedges from 0.25% and a $1M annual FX flow minimum.
- UK SME wanting payments plus hedging: HedgeFlows β Published plans from GBP 99 per month combine a multi-currency payment account with FX and risk tools.
- Mid-sized importer or exporter wanting advice: Corpay Cross-Border β Combines payments in 145+ currencies with a capture, analyze, strategize and execute hedging process.
- ERP-heavy company automating currency workflows: Kantox β Dynamic Hedging triggers hedges automatically from ERP exposure data via API or SFTP.
- Enterprise treasury with hedge accounting needs: Kyriba β Exposure management, trade tracking and ASC and IFRS hedge accounting sit inside a full treasury platform.
FX risk management software helps companies that buy, sell or report in more than one currency measure their exposure and protect margins against exchange-rate moves. The category includes regulated hedging providers that execute forwards and other contracts, automation platforms that connect ERP data to hedging rules, multi-bank execution services for treasury teams, and treasury systems that capture exposure and handle hedge accounting. Typical buyers are importers and exporters, SaaS and marketplace businesses with foreign revenue, companies with overseas subsidiaries and finance teams that must report stable results. The problem it solves is simple to state: a 5% currency move can erase the profit on an international contract, and spreadsheets plus phone calls to a bank do not scale.
We compared each provider on six fields: published pricing, free plan or trial, hedging instruments and programs, exposure capture and automation, regulation and integrations, and the main limitation. Providers are listed in practical buyer order, from self-serve providers with published pricing to quote-led enterprise platforms. The order is not a quality ranking. We checked prices and terms on official vendor pages on 12 October 2026 and say Quote-based where no price is published. This guide is informational and is not financial advice; derivatives carry risk, and hedging decisions should follow your own policy and professional advice.

The 6 options in detail
Bound
Best for growing companies starting to hedgeBest for: Fast-growing companies with roughly $1M or more in annual FX flows that want transparent hedging without monthly fees.
| Attribute | Bound |
|---|---|
| Published pricing | Pay as you go: spot from 0.03%, hedges from 0.25%; tiered hedge rates by annual FX flow and margin deposit |
| Free plan or trial | No free plan; no setup or monthly fees; onboarding in 24 to 72 hours subject to KYB |
| Hedging instruments and programs | Forwards plus averaging and ranging strategies; trades can be amended at any time |
| Exposure capture and automation | Connects to your tech stack to identify exposure; automation rules and automated month-end reconciliation |
| Regulation and integrations | Bound Rates Limited is FCA-authorised as an investment firm (FRN 966723) and as an EMI (FRN 1036025) |
| Main limitation | Minimum of $1M or equivalent in annual FX flow; options are not listed on the official pages |
- Publishes a full hedge pricing grid, for example 0.45% with a 5% margin deposit or 0.75% with no margin for under $20M flow.
- Shows spreads on amendments and cancellations, which are often the hidden cost of hedging.
- The $1M annual flow minimum excludes very small businesses, and the instrument range is narrower than bank or enterprise platforms.
Our take: Bound is aimed at companies that know they have currency risk but have never run a formal hedging program. Its pricing page shows exactly what you pay: hedge rates fall from 0.45% for annual flows under $20M with a 5% margin deposit to 0.25% above $250M, and rise if you choose no margin deposit. Strategies include forwards, averaging across several rates and ranging, and you can amend trades when forecasts change. Bound says it serves more than 200 fast-growing companies, typically transacting in the seven to eight figure range. In onboarding, ask which currency pairs are available, how margin calls work if rates move against you, and how its exposure detection connects to your accounting system. Compared with HedgeFlows, Bound is more focused on hedging than payments; compared with Kantox or Kyriba, it is lighter and quicker to start, with costs you can calculate before you sign.
HedgeFlows
Best for UK SMEs combining payments and FXBest for: UK-based SMEs and scale-ups that want a multi-currency payment account with FX risk tools on a published monthly plan.
| Attribute | HedgeFlows |
|---|---|
| Published pricing | Starter GBP 99/month or GBP 950/year; Scaler GBP 499/month or GBP 4,800/year; Enterprise custom |
| Free plan or trial | No free plan; Starter offers a free trial (length not stated); free 30-minute treasury review call |
| Hedging instruments and programs | Automated hedging listed under FX risk management; hedging strategy and execution advisory priced on request |
| Exposure capture and automation | Scaler adds a risk management co-pilot, cash flow planning and error and fraud detection; Enterprise adds TMS |
| Regulation and integrations | HedgeFlows Ltd is an FCA Authorised Payment Institution (FRN 1008699); custom ERP, Salesforce and HubSpot on Enterprise |
| Main limitation | Hedge accounting and custom ERP integrations only on Enterprise; tier for automated hedging not stated |
- Starter includes a global payment account, multi-currency payment automation and 100 free local payments.
- Scaler includes three entities and public API access for teams automating payment and FX workflows.
- The pricing page does not say which tier includes automated hedging, and strategy advice is a separate paid service, so confirm scope before choosing a plan.
Our take: HedgeFlows starts from payments: you get a multi-currency account, automated supplier and customer payments and FX conversion, then add risk tools as you grow. That suits UK SMEs whose FX exposure comes mainly from paying overseas suppliers or receiving foreign revenue and who want one place to handle both. Starter at GBP 99 per month covers payments and FX; Scaler at GBP 499 adds a risk management co-pilot, cash flow planning, multi-entity support and API access; Enterprise adds a treasury management system and hedge accounting. Advisory on hedging strategy and execution is priced separately after a treasury review. In a trial, ask which hedging instruments are offered on your plan, how exposures are captured from invoices, and what FX margin applies to conversions. Compared with Bound, HedgeFlows is broader on payments and planning but less transparent on hedge pricing; compared with Corpay, it is a lighter software-first option for UK businesses.
Corpay Cross-Border
Best for SMB to multinational advisory-led hedgingBest for: Importers, exporters and multinationals that want a payments provider with specialist-led hedging strategy and execution.
| Attribute | Corpay Cross-Border |
|---|---|
| Published pricing | Quote-based; no fee schedule published |
| Free plan or trial | No free plan or trial; consultation booking |
| Hedging instruments and programs | Range of hedging tools with deliverable or cash settlement, early delivery, extensions and rollovers, plus limit orders |
| Exposure capture and automation | C.A.S.E. process: capture exposures, analyze risk, strategize a hedge policy, execute; Risk Visualizer dashboard |
| Regulation and integrations | Payments and trading in 145+ currencies; Corpay is NYSE-listed; acquired GPS Capital Markets in December 2024 |
| Main limitation | Specific instruments and costs are not published, so comparing quotes requires detail from a sales conversation |
- No initial deposit on FX hedges and accommodative mark-to-market thresholds, according to Corpay.
- Corpay Cross-Border cites 21,000+ customers and 4.1 million+ payments a year.
- Pricing and the full instrument list are not on the website, so you depend on the quote and the specialist assigned to your account.
Our take: Corpay Cross-Border combines international payments, multi-currency accounts and currency risk management, which suits companies whose exposure comes from regular supplier and customer flows. Its hedging approach is consultative: specialists help capture exposures, analyze risk appetite, write a hedging policy and execute it, with contracts that can be settled, delivered early, extended or rolled. The Risk Visualizer, launched in 2023, generates automated FX risk analysis from cash flow data and lets users execute hedges from a dashboard. Corpay's December 2024 acquisition of GPS Capital Markets added a business serving upper middle market US companies. In a consultation, ask for written terms on spreads, margin and mark-to-market thresholds, which instruments are available in your jurisdiction and how hedges link to payments. Compared with Bound and HedgeFlows, Corpay offers more human advisory support and broader currency coverage; compared with Kantox, it is less focused on ERP-driven automation.
MillTech
Best for treasurers wanting multi-bank executionBest for: Corporate treasurers and fund managers who want multi-bank FX forward execution and cost analysis without setting up many bank relationships.
| Attribute | MillTech |
|---|---|
| Published pricing | Quote-based; fixed-fee service model for FX, no fee levels published; TCA included at no extra cost |
| Free plan or trial | No free plan or trial |
| Hedging instruments and programs | FX forwards with margin-free hedging (excluding required regulatory margin); agency execution |
| Exposure capture and automation | Multi-bank ISDA onboarding with 15+ liquidity providers; Co-Pilot risk advisory and calculation services |
| Regulation and integrations | FCA-regulated; NFA-registered CTA and Introducing Broker; integrates with OMS, TMS, PMS and custodians |
| Main limitation | Built around institutional and corporate treasury workflows; fee levels are not published |
- Transaction cost analysis is included, so you can see what execution actually cost against market benchmarks.
- MillTech cites 250+ client entities and $500bn+ average annual trading volume.
- The platform is designed for treasury and fund operations, so smaller companies without a hedging policy may find it more than they need.
Our take: MillTech, formerly branded MillTechFX, gives corporate treasurers and fund managers access to several banks through a single onboarding and an agency execution model. Instead of negotiating ISDAs with each bank, you onboard once and request competitive quotes for forwards from multiple liquidity providers. Margin-free hedging for forwards, a fixed-fee model and included transaction cost analysis address the main complaints treasury teams have about bank FX: opaque spreads and collateral demands. Co-Pilot adds risk advisory and calculation services for teams without in-house derivatives expertise. The platform also offers money market fund access for surplus cash. In a demo, ask for the fixed fee in writing, which banks quote your currency pairs, and how TCA reports are produced. Compared with Kantox, MillTech focuses on execution and cost rather than ERP-driven automation; compared with Kyriba, it is an execution layer rather than a full treasury system.
Kantox
Best for automating hedges from ERP dataBest for: Mid-market and large companies with significant multi-currency flows that want hedging automated from ERP exposure data.
| Attribute | Kantox |
|---|---|
| Published pricing | Quote-based; demo or expert call required |
| Free plan or trial | No free plan or trial |
| Hedging instruments and programs | Dynamic Hedging: micro, layered and static hedging programs and combinations; swaps; Dynamic Pricing |
| Exposure capture and automation | Collects exposure and triggers hedges automatically when preset conditions are met; netting via In-House FX |
| Regulation and integrations | FCA and Bank of Spain payment institution; owned by BNP Paribas since 2023; SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, NetSuite, FXall, 360T |
| Main limitation | Requires ERP integration and policy design work before automation delivers value |
- Hedge Accounting Module built with Zanders supports documentation for accounting treatment.
- Named clients include FNAC, Fareva, Hotelbeds and Evaneos across travel, food, chemicals and logistics.
- Kantox works best when exposure data flows cleanly from the ERP, so companies with fragmented systems face a longer setup.
Our take: Kantox calls its approach Currency Management Automation. It reads exposure data from your ERP or TMS via API or SFTP, applies the hedging program you define, and executes trades automatically when conditions are met. Programs include micro-hedging individual exposures, layered hedging of forecast cash flows and static budget-rate hedging, and they can be combined. Dynamic Pricing lets you set customer prices with live FX rates, In-House FX nets intercompany flows, and the Hedge Accounting Module covers documentation. Since July 2023 Kantox has been owned by BNP Paribas, and it holds payment institution authorizations in the UK and Spain. In a demo, map one real exposure from ERP to hedge to settlement, and ask who sets and approves program parameters. Compared with Bound or MillTech, Kantox automates far more of the workflow; compared with Kyriba, it is specialized in FX rather than broad treasury, and often sits alongside a TMS.
Kyriba
Best for enterprise treasury and hedge accountingBest for: Large treasury teams that need FX exposure management, trade tracking and hedge accounting inside a full liquidity platform.
| Attribute | Kyriba |
|---|---|
| Published pricing | Quote-based; demo request required |
| Free plan or trial | No free plan or trial |
| Hedging instruments and programs | Tracks FX spot, forward, swap and option trades; hedge recommendations; FX, interest rate and commodity exposure |
| Exposure capture and automation | Exposure captured from ERP data; FX analytics with portfolio VaR; independent mark-to-market valuations |
| Regulation and integrations | Derivative and hedge accounting for ASC and IFRS; FXall, 360T and Bloomberg; ISO 27001, SOC 1 and SOC 2 |
| Main limitation | Enterprise implementation scale and cost; execution is through your banks and trading platforms |
- Kyriba cites a Trane Technologies case with 97% real-time visibility of group FX exposure.
- FX risk sits alongside cash forecasting, payments and liquidity in one platform.
- Kyriba is a system of record and analytics, not a liquidity provider, so you still need bank relationships and trading platforms to execute.
Our take: Kyriba approaches FX risk from the treasury system side. It captures exposures from ERP data across the group, quantifies them with analytics such as portfolio value at risk, recommends hedges, records spot, forward, swap and option trades, values them independently and produces derivative and hedge accounting entries under ASC and IFRS. Trades are executed through connected platforms such as FXall, 360T and Bloomberg and through your bank relationships. That makes it a strong fit for multinationals with formal hedge policies, auditors to satisfy and several banks, and a poor fit for companies that only need to buy forwards. In a demo, ask to see exposure flow from your ERP into the dashboard, how hedge effectiveness testing works and the implementation plan. Compared with Kantox, Kyriba covers treasury more broadly but relies on separate execution venues; compared with MillTech, it manages the whole lifecycle rather than execution alone.
How to choose FX risk management software
Write your hedging policy first
Software executes a policy; it does not replace one. Before talking to vendors, agree on which exposures you will hedge (committed invoices, forecast revenue, balance sheet items), what percentage, over what horizon and who approves trades. A simple policy might hedge 50% to 80% of forecast foreign-currency costs for the next 12 months. With that in hand, you can see quickly whether a provider's programs match, whether you need automation or occasional manual trades, and whether advisory services such as HedgeFlows' strategy work or Corpay's specialists would help your team.
Compare all-in hedging cost
Hedging cost includes the spread or fee on each trade, margin or collateral requirements, amendment and cancellation spreads, and any platform subscription. Bound publishes hedge rates by flow tier and shows the effect of a margin deposit, while MillTech uses a fixed fee and includes transaction cost analysis. Bank and advisory-led providers usually quote case by case. Ask every shortlisted provider to price the same sample hedge, such as a 12-month forward strip, and to state margin terms in writing, so you can compare cost on equal terms.
Check instruments and flexibility
Forwards are the core instrument for most corporate programs, but needs vary. Some companies want options or collars to keep upside, others need window or flexible forwards for uncertain payment dates, swaps to roll positions, or limit orders to target a budget rate. Confirm which instruments each provider offers in your jurisdiction and whether trades can be amended, extended or closed early. Options are not listed on Bound's official pages, for example, while Kyriba records option trades executed elsewhere. If your payment dates are uncertain, ask how the provider handles drawdowns before maturity.
Assess exposure capture and integration
Automation is only as reliable as the exposure data. Kantox and Kyriba pull exposure from ERP systems; Bound connects to your finance stack to identify exposure; HedgeFlows and Corpay link hedging with payment flows. Ask how invoices, purchase orders and forecasts become exposures, how often data refreshes, and what happens when a forecast changes. Teams with clean ERP data can automate heavily; teams with fragmented systems may get more value from a provider that combines payments and hedging in one account. Ask for a live walkthrough using one of your own invoices.
Verify regulation and counterparty setup
FX hedging providers are regulated differently depending on country and activity. Bound is FCA-authorised as an investment firm and EMI, HedgeFlows is an FCA authorised payment institution, Kantox holds UK and Spanish payment institution authorizations and is owned by BNP Paribas, and MillTech is FCA-regulated and NFA-registered. Check who your legal counterparty is for each trade, how client money is safeguarded, and which protections apply. Your legal and compliance teams should review agreements before you trade. Also confirm which entity in the group signs each agreement.
How FX risk management software pricing works
Most hedging providers earn money on the trade rather than through a subscription. The cost is a spread or percentage on each spot or forward contract, sometimes with different rates depending on margin. Bound publishes this openly, with spot from 0.03% and hedges from 0.25% for the largest flows, and no setup or monthly fees. Bank-affiliated and advisory-led providers, including Corpay and Kantox, usually quote rates based on volume, currency pairs, tenor and credit assessment. Amendments, rollovers and early closures can carry additional spread, so ask how those are priced.
Software-led platforms add a subscription. HedgeFlows charges GBP 99 per month for Starter and GBP 499 for Scaler, with Enterprise and hedging advisory priced on request. MillTech uses a fixed-fee model for FX execution, with transaction cost analysis included, and receives fees from money market fund providers rather than clients for its cash product. Enterprise treasury platforms such as Kyriba charge license and implementation fees, while execution costs are paid separately through banks and trading venues. Ask whether subscription tiers cap entities, users or payment volume, because those limits often drive upgrades within the first year.
Collateral is a cost too. Margin deposits or credit lines tie up cash, and mark-to-market calls can arrive at short notice when rates move sharply against your position. Bound's grid shows the trade-off directly: choosing no margin deposit raises the hedge rate. Ask each provider for margin and threshold terms in writing, and include the opportunity cost of collateral in your comparison alongside spreads and subscriptions.

Ask every shortlisted provider to price the same 12-month forward hedge on your main currency pair, including margin terms and the cost of extending one contract by a month. This is informational content, not financial advice.
FX Risk Management Software: frequently asked questions
What is FX risk management software?
FX risk management software helps companies identify, measure and reduce exposure to exchange-rate changes. Depending on the provider, it captures exposures from invoices or ERP data, recommends or automates hedges, executes forwards and other contracts, tracks open positions and supports hedge accounting. Some products are regulated hedging providers, others are automation layers or treasury systems that connect to banks and trading platforms for execution.
What is an FX forward contract?
An FX forward is an agreement to exchange a set amount of one currency for another at a fixed rate on a future date. Companies use forwards to lock in the cost of future supplier payments or the value of future receipts. Forwards remove uncertainty but also remove the benefit if rates move in your favor, and they may require margin. This explanation is general information, not financial advice.
How much does it cost to hedge currency risk?
Costs vary by provider, volume, currency pair and tenor. Bound publishes hedge pricing from 0.25% to 0.75% depending on annual flow and margin deposit. HedgeFlows publishes platform subscriptions from GBP 99 per month, while Corpay, MillTech, Kantox and Kyriba are quote-based. Include spreads, margin, amendment costs and subscriptions when comparing. Prices were checked on 12 October 2026 on official vendor pages.
Do small businesses need FX hedging?
Not always. If foreign-currency flows are small or prices can be adjusted quickly, the cost and complexity of hedging may outweigh the benefit. Hedging becomes more relevant when currency moves could materially affect margins, budgets or loan covenants. Some providers set minimums; Bound requires about $1M in annual FX flow. Discuss your situation with an adviser; this article is not financial advice.
What is hedge accounting and do I need it?
Hedge accounting is a set of accounting rules under IFRS 9 and ASC 815 that lets companies match the timing of gains and losses on hedging instruments with the items they hedge, reducing profit volatility. It requires documentation and effectiveness testing. Listed companies and large groups often need it; many private SMEs do not. Kyriba, Kantox and HedgeFlows Enterprise list hedge accounting support. Confirm requirements with your auditor.
Is my money protected with an FX hedging provider?
Protection depends on the provider's regulatory status and how funds are held. Payment and e-money institutions typically safeguard client funds rather than offering deposit insurance. Bound states that eligible client money linked to regulated FX hedging may be FSCS-protected up to GBP 120,000, while its e-money accounts are not covered. Read each provider's disclosures and ask your legal team to review counterparty terms. This is not legal or financial advice.
