Best Fleet Management Software in 2026: Pricing & Comparison

We compared four fleet management platforms on public pricing, free trials, GPS tracking, maintenance and compliance so operations teams can shortlist.

By Kurums EditorialPricing checked 19 Oct 2026Updated 19 Oct 2026How we make money
TL;DR

  • Transparent per-vehicle pricing: Samsara — published plans per vehicle or asset.
  • GPS and telematics focus: Geotab — hardware + software with published options.
  • Video and safety: Motive (formerly KeepTruckin) — published plans with AI dashcams.
  • Enterprise and mixed fleets: Verizon Connect — quote or published tiers for larger fleets.

Fleet management software tracks vehicle location, monitors driver behaviour, schedules maintenance, manages compliance and often includes dashcam or ELD capabilities. Buyers compare per-vehicle pricing, hardware requirements, real-time GPS, maintenance modules and reporting.

Every platform below was evaluated on the same fields: published pricing, free plan or trial, core focus, and main limitation. Order is not a quality ranking. We sorted by public published starting price first, quote-led last.

Kurums Match

We want published per-vehicle pricing and dashcams

Samsara and Motive both publish plans that include GPS and AI dashcam options.

We prefer an open telematics platform

Geotab is known for its open platform and large partner ecosystem around vehicle data.

We run a large enterprise fleet

Verizon Connect is frequently chosen for larger deployments where a quote and enterprise support are expected.

Buying tip

Separate hardware cost from monthly software. Many fleet platforms require proprietary or partner devices. Ask for the total cost of ownership over 36 months including devices, installation, data plans and software.

FAQ

Do fleet management tools require hardware?

Most full-featured platforms (Samsara, Geotab, Motive, Verizon Connect) use vehicle devices or dashcams for GPS, diagnostics and video. Pure software tracking of phone location exists but is less accurate for commercial fleets.

Is there a free fleet management platform?

None of the four listed offer a permanent free plan for commercial fleet tracking. Trials and demos are available.

What is the difference between ELD and dashcam?

ELD (Electronic Logging Device) tracks hours of service for compliance. Dashcams record video for safety and incident review. Many platforms offer both.
