Playing without an account
You can play every game without joining. In that case nothing about you is sent to our game server. Your XP, daily streak and progress are kept only in your own browser storage, on your device. Clearing your browser data removes them.
What we store when you join
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | To send your 6-digit sign-in code. It is never shown to other players. |
| Player name | Shown publicly on the leaderboard next to your level badge and XP. |
| Scores | The game played, the XP earned and the time, used to build the leaderboards and your level. |
| Totals | Total XP, games played, best daily streak and the date you joined. |
| Sign-in tokens | A scrambled (hashed) record of up to five devices you are signed in on, so you stay signed in. |
We do not ask for your real name, a password, your age, your location or any payment details. Please pick a player name that does not identify you if you prefer to stay anonymous.
Short-lived technical data
- A sign-in code is stored in scrambled form for up to 15 minutes.
- To stop abuse, the server counts sign-up attempts per IP address for up to one hour. The address itself is stored only as a scrambled value and is not linked to your account.
What is saved in your browser
The games use browser storage, not tracking cookies, to remember: your XP and streak, your sign-in token, a copy of your profile for faster loading, and any score waiting to be sent. Signing out removes the token and profile copy from that device.
How we use it and who sees it
- We use account data only to run sign-in, the leaderboards, levels and achievements.
- Your player name, level and XP are public. Your email is not.
- We do not sell or rent your data and we do not send marketing email to your game address.
- The data sits on the hosting service that runs kurums.com (WordPress.com, operated by Automattic), which also delivers the sign-in emails on our behalf.
- Site administrators can see the player list in order to remove offensive names and cheating.
Advertising
Game pages show Google AdSense ads. Google and its partners may use cookies to show and measure ads. That is described in the main privacy policy. We do not pass your player account or email to advertisers.
How long we keep it
We keep your account until you delete it. Deleting it removes your email, player name, scores and totals from our database straight away and takes you off the leaderboards. We may also remove accounts that break the fair-play rules.
Your choices
- See and change: your profile shows what we hold and lets you change your player name.
- Delete: open Account settings on your profile and choose Delete my account.
- Ask us: for a copy of your data, a correction, or any other request under GDPR, KVKK or similar laws, write to [email protected] or use the contact page.
Children
Kurums Play is made for a professional and student audience and is not directed at children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If the games start storing anything new, we will update this page and the date at the top.
